Flood activated by relentless downpour has crushed more than 3,000 farmlands and around 120 houses at Zugo town in Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa.
As indicated by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the Information Officer in the region, Alhaji Sanusi Doro, told newsmen in Guri on Thursday that the episode happened in the late long periods of Tuesday.
He said the flood had likewise washed away the Una-Zugobia street, impeding development of individuals and homestead produce to the market.
He approached the State Government and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to help the casualties of the flood with nourishment and medications.
Be that as it may, Doro said the neighborhood government board had prepared young people to raise sandbag dike at the bank of the Guri River to avoid more harms.
He stated:
"The nearby government reacted rapidly by preparing more than 150 young people who were given more than 1,000 sacks to raise sand-pack dike at the bank of the waterway.
