In a deadly accident that happened on Sunday in Ikaram-Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area, Ondo State, five individuals have been confirmed deceased.
An accident involving an 18-passenger Toyota Hiace bus with the license plate DKA 256 XY was the cause of the fatalities.
Niyi, a witness, reported that the bus lost control when one of its tires exploded as it was going at a high rate of speed.
Other passengers apparently suffered various degrees of injuries in addition to those who died.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ikare-Akoko unit, Oke-Agbe Akoko Division police officers, and locals around the axis all contributed to the rescue effort.

The five dead bodies were placed in the mortuary while the injured victims were transferred to the emergency room of the State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko.
The Federal Ministry of Works has been contacted on multiple occasions by the community of Ikaram-Akoko to build speed breakers at the intersection where accidents frequently occur, according to the traditional leader of the town, Oba Andrew Momodu.
